Nestled just south of the capital and built around its namesake natural springs, the city of Crystal Springs, Mississippi has a rich heritage dating back to 1823 when Methodist preacher Elisha Lott settled the original community.
With the arrival of the railroad in 1858, Crystal Springs shifted its center and laid the foundation for growth. In the following decades the city became an agricultural powerhouse—once crowned the “Tomato Capital of the World”—with produce shipped across the region and beyond.
Today, Crystal Springs blends its historic roots with forward-looking community spirit, making it a vibrant environment for local businesses to thrive and connect with customers who value authenticity, tradition, and community involvement.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to the following businesses for helping to make the 2025 Tomato Festival possible.
